That is right; cool off at one of the many fine lakes in north Georgia. These lakes offer a wonderful vacation destination for great, fun, and relaxing lake activities. Whether you want to sunbath and nap on the white beaches, fish the depths for the “big ‘un”, or marvel at the gallery of the natural shoreline, north Georgia’s lakes have something for everyone.

Blue Ridge Lake – northeast of Blue Ridge – This is a Tennessee Valley Authority lake that generates electricity for the area. This 3,290-acre lake has over 100-miles of natural forest (80%) and developed shoreline possessing approximately 90 National Forest campsites, several boat ramps , a marina, public swimming, and plenty of picnic areas. Carters Lake – southwest of Ellijay – This is a US Army Corp of Engineers lake so you will not see much development on it. Its 3200-acre lake offers over 60-miles of natural shoreline possessing four campgrounds, boat ramp, marina, public swimming, and plenty of picnic areas.
